Romy Wakil
Psychodynamic and Person-Centred Counsellor
(Individual and Couples Counselling)
I would like to welcome you to my website and I hope you find information that may be helpful to you in your quest. Firstly, let me start by introducing myself:
My name is Romy Wakil and I am a Psychodynamic and Person-Centred Counsellor. My journey towards becoming a counsellor started in my youth with my multifarious volunteering activities within the humanitarian sector. From a very young age I was intrigued by the power of human connection and the complexities of humanity. In an effort to practice as a helping practitioner, I pursued and obtained an MA (Honours) in Psychology at Saint Andrews University in Scotland and went on to gain a Masters in Counselling at The University of Edinburgh, Scotland. I am qualified by COSCA (Counselling and Psychotherapy in Scotland) and am currently working towards BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) accreditation. I am also an associate member of the Pancyprian Association for Psychotherapists in Cyprus. I have worked in various charitable organisations throughout the years. Most recently, I worked as a bil-lingual counsellor (English, Arabic) at a counselling centre and as a student counsellor at an affiliate university in Scotland. Currently, I reside in Cyprus and offer both individual and couples counselling in English, French and Arabic.
Struggles I Commonly Work With : Stress, Sexual Problems, Social Stigma, Depression, Relational Issues, Abuse (emotional, physical or sexual), Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Low Self-Esteem, Bereavement, Inter-Cultural Difficulties, Anger, Financial Worries, Trauma.
